Job Description Job Description General Functions: Under limited supervision and in a fast-paced environment, the Website Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of CFP Board’s websites (CFP.net, LetsMakeAPlan.org, etc.), including overseeing development, defining strategy, directing design and content development, and ensuring the sites are continually improved for performance, SEO, and user engagement. This role serves as the primary owner of CFP Board’s web properties, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all site activity across technology, content, and marketing initiatives. The Manager proactively identifies opportunities, tracks priorities, and ensures alignment across stakeholders. The Manager coordinates with internal and external stakeholders and partner agencies to ensure strategic direction and goals are accomplished. She/he supervises the Web Communications Specialist. Essential Functions Website Maintenance and Management - Develops and maintains an ongoing strategy for ensuring online content is current, consistent, audience-appropriate and accurate across multiple sites, to promote an integrated and high-quality user experience. - Oversees administration of the web content management system (Sitecore) and training of CFP Board staff on how to use the CMS. - Ensures website compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). - Manages the overall work activities of the Web Communications Specialist, including establishing performance objectives, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating employee development. - Leads and coordinates QA and testing efforts for new features, content updates, and releases, ensuring functionality, accuracy, and a high-quality user experience across all web properties. - Lead and execute A/B testing on content, layout, CTAs, design to improve conversion rates and inform data-driven website decisions. - Maintains clear visibility into all active and upcoming website initiatives, ensuring effective tracking, prioritization, and follow-through, including ownership of the digital roadmap and intake process for all major website initiatives. Content Management - Reviews and approves content for CFP Board’s websites, working with department representatives to complete updates in a timely manner consistent with organizational standards. - Oversees online content to ensure proper voice, tone and style, visual guidelines and brand usage. - Ensures all content follows brand guidelines. - Maintains production and editorial calendars for online content. - Collaborates with CFP Board staff in the development and implementation of effective, integrated marketing and communications plans that include websites, social media, email, advertising, events and other forms of communication. Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Expertise: - Monitor website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to assess traffic, engagement, and performance of traffic to provide actionable insights. - Set up, configure, and manage GA4 to track website performance, user behavior, and key events. - Analyze user data to optimize website content and performance, improving engagement and conversion rates. - Defines success metrics for website content strategy and UX, ensuring that relevant data is collected in analytics and used correctly to improve results. Search Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization (SEO and GEO): - Implement and optimize on-page and off-page SEO and GEO strategies to drive traffic. - Track and report on keyword rankings, organic traffic, LLM citations and user behavior to identify growth opportunities. - Manage and implement the search engine optimization (SEO),Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and conversion rate optimization (CRO) efforts. Design & User Experience (UX): - Monitors usability and effectiveness for CFP Board’s websites, ensures compliance with relevant web accessibility guidelines and identifies areas for improvement and provides recommendations. - Collaborate with designers and UX specialists to improve the website’s design, functionality and navigation. - Ensure website is mobile-friendly and responsive across all devices. Collaboration & Communication: - Work with IT, UX/design, content and marketing teams to align the website with broader business strategies and campaigns as well as coordinate project planning, budgeting and rollouts. - Navigate stakeholder priorities effectively, understanding downstream impacts to support timely, well-informed decision-making. - Coordinate with external vendors, agencies or freelancers for additional support or services. - Monitors trends and best practices for websites, incorporating the latest technologies and tools to enhance CFP Board’s online properties and assets. - Oversees webinars and related technical training, monitoring and scheduling. - Coordinate and support regular evening or off-hours code deployments as needed. - Performs other duties as assigned. Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, web design or other related field. - Minimum 5 years’ experience with website development and design/UX concepts, and with writing and editing for websites and digital communications. - Experience with Sitecore content management systems strongly preferred - Deep knowledge in Google Analytics (GA4). - Strong understanding of SEO, GEO and increasing organic search traffic. - Experience managing employees, contractors and agency partners. - Experience managing budgets and contracts. - Data-driven decision maker who is highly analytical and a critical thinker. - Highly organized and proactive, with strong attention to detail and follow-through. - Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and maintain visibility across workstreams. - Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams. - Proficiency with image editing software. - Strong proofreading skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to alter style according to audience, and to explain technical information to a non-technical audience. - Ability to apply project management tools and skills, and manage multiple projects. simultaneously to ensure the on-time launch and flawless execution of projects from concept to completion. - High level of professionalism and ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. CFP Board is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The applicable starting annual base salary is anticipated to be in the range of $110,000.00 to $125,000.00. In addition to base salary, total compensation includes incentive compensation for which employees are eligible based on completion of individual goals.
