Job Description Job Description Job Opening: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to animals, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals and their families! Job Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Conduct animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations. Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide support in animal husbandry practices, including feeding and grooming. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Qualifications & Skills Required Valid Pennsylvania license as a veterinary technician. Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience required . Knowledgeable in veterinary practices and animal physiology/husbandry principles. Proficient in animal restraint techniques and handling various species. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques. Strong communication and exceptional customer service skills. Ability to read, comprehend instructions, and perform basic veterinary calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to work with computer-based veterinary software. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Compassionate approach towards animals and their owners. Preferred Experience with exotic animals is a plus ! Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to meet the following physical obligations: Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Endure standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time. Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment. Take necessary safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia, and radiation.
