AMETEK, Inc. has an opening for a Slitter Operator at their Lancaster, PA plant for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm). With an exceptional benefit package including tuition reimbursement, our positions start at $20.82 per hour, plus shift differential.Job Duties:

• Setup and operate rotary slitting machines to slit metal coils or, strips to one or several narrower strips with tolerances as to width, or widths, of finished strip, amount of burr, camber, and coil set.
• Reviews processing sheets and setup slitters using cutters (steel and carbide), spacers, shims and pressure rings.
• Slit metal, inspecting while in process to assure that specifications are being met. Replace cutters as necessary.--
• Cut out or grind butt welds, holes, flaws, cracks, etc.-- Respools and/or interleaves material when necessary.-- Slits material as needed for various test purposes.
• Prepares slit material for delivery and prepares various production and inventory records.-- Requires operation of towmotor, hoists, and scrap baler. Position Requirements:
  • Safety conscious and able to assess risks
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Solid mathematical skills
  • Desire to use hands and learn new machinery and tooling
  • Comfortable working in a unionized, multi-machine job shop environment
  • Willingness to work on weekends if needed
  • A high school diploma or GED certification
  • Able to pass a hair drug test
