GSM Industrial, a regional leader since 1983 in industrial fabrication, installation and mechanical contracting, is seeking a Fabricator to support our team. Our typical Fabricators can earn between $20 and $32 per hour based on experience and overtime.

The Fabricator is someone that will be responsible for cutting, fabricating and forming materials. Our core competency is based on safely processing alloyed: structures, weldments, piping systems, pressure vessels and sheet metal components of varying shapes and sizes. As a safety-sensitive job, tasks and duties include, but are not limited to operating: material handling equipment, motorized vehicles, welding equipment, fabrication machinery, power tools, working at height over four feet and working in confined spaces (or as prescribed by OSHA). These tasks or duties could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.

Requirements:
Essential Job Functions:

Reading and interpreting cut lists and work orders
Selecting, cutting, forming and handling materials
Lay-out holes, bend lines and cutouts on materials
Safely utilize overhead cranes, forklifts and proper rigging equipment
Accurately read and interpret blueprints or shop drawings
Accurately download job information to controller
Safely load and unload materials on table either manually or via overhead crane or forklift
Proper setup, selection and alignment of material(s) on table
Safely change and select drill bits
Perform preventative maintenance and work area organization as needed


Qualifications:

A High School diploma or GED
Minimum (2) years' experience in metal fabrication
Basic math skills
Proficient in reading measuring instruments
Proficient in blueprint reading
Proficient in lay-out


Machines/Tools/Equipment:

Personal protection equipment
All types of measuring instruments
Basic hand tools
Basic power tools
Overhead cranes and rigging equipment
All shop fabrication equipment
Forklift


Working Conditions:

Primarily a controlled shop environment
Occasionally outside in all types of weather conditions
