Company: U.S. Boiler Company, LLC Hours: 1st Shift At U.S. Boiler Company, we are proud to offer American-made residential and commercial heating products that have been designed, engineered and produced domestically. Manufactured in Lancaster, PA, our facilities employ nearly 300 people from our community. Every product that leaves our factory has been designed, engineered and manufactured for exclusive use in North America. We are currently hiring for a Drafting Supervisor. This position will supervise and coordinate activities of drafting department employees engaged in the design and development of residential boilers and related parts and accessories. The desired candidate must have 2 years of experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT. SolidWorks PDM experience is a plus! Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supervise team of design drafters responsible for creating and maintaining 3D models, 2D drawings, part numbers, BOMs, and other controlled documents as needed.
Coordinate drafting team resources and assignments with priority according to business needs.
Maintain designs and BOMs for existing products.
Create new models, drawings, BOMs and other controlled documents for new products.
Assist drafters with interpreting design and manufacturing specifications and Project Engineers' requirements.
Design, construct, and verify prototype components and assemblies.
Ensure controlled documentation follows best practices, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Maintain file control via custom internal document control software and/or SolidWorks PDM.
Mentor and grow team competencies.
Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Associate Degree in Engineering/Drafting field from a college/technicalschool with minimum 5 years related work experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have minimum 2 years experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD LT, and ERP software. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required. SolidWorks PDM experience a plus.
