the needs of our customers. Summary: Supervises and coordinates
activities of union production workers engaged in manufacture of
parts or products and verifies conformance to quality standards by
performing the following duties. Position takes production
supervision direction from the plant manager. Essential duties and
responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned. Directly supervises up to 15 employees according to
company policies and procedures, including interviewing, hiring and
training employees; planning, assigning and directing work;
appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations,
based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from
Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer
deadlines are met.
Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair
products which fail to meet standards.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production
Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production
methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to
increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving
Maintains time and production records.
Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
Primary supervision responsibility for receiving and shipping
functions of the plant. Secondary Responsibilities: Interprets
specifications, blue prints, and job orders, and assigns duties.
Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality
and reliability standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production
standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual

certificate from college or technical school; or three to six
months related experience and/or training; or equivalent

routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively
before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio, and percent and to draw
and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual
should have knowledge of database software; manufacturing software
