We have opportunities for Vacuum Coating Technicians Level 2. Openings on all shifts! POSITION SUMMARY: Produce optically coated parts following vacuum deposition production process guidelines, monitoring equipment, loading, running, and unloading vacuum chambers. Responsibilities include:

• Sets up, operates, and maintains vacuum deposition chambers and coating operations for production, and engineering to coat optical plastic products with optical materials such as chromium, aluminum, gold, and others.
• Loads parts onto fixtures and then places fixtures into chamber for vacuum deposition processing.
• Monitors gauges and chamber to ensure that they are operating properly during the coating process; makes adjustments or stops machine when problems occur.
• Maintains daily production records for coating process runs.
• Monitors coating operations for production and quality standards.
• Visually inspects coated areas of products for defects such as blemishes, uneven coverage of optical coating or failure to meet any customer specification.
• Prepares products for the coating process, including inspecting, cleaning, routing and buffing. MXL currently operates 24 hours a day, 3 shifts, 5 days a week. --- 1st Shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) --- 2nd Shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) --- 3rd Shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM) MXL is preparing for 12-hour shift scheduling beginning in LATE April/early May 2022 . --- Full-time and work approximately 15 days a month! Three day weekend every other weekend!--- Day shift 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Night shift 7:00 pm to 7:30 AM with night shift differential pay (+$1.50) . --- Scheduled not more than 3 consecutive days of 12-hour shifts. --- Regular rotation with predictable bi-weekly schedule (Week 1=36 hours, Week 2=48 hours). --- Every other weekend off. .
  
  Requirements:
  SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Education: High school or GED.
  • Experience: Production-oriented work experience.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of and working ability with computers, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Production and Processing: Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products.
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. A hands-on position.
  • Communication: Speak, write and read the English language.
  • Vision at or correctable to 20/20
