Job Description

Purpose of Job and Expected Outcome

The project manager will drive a portfolio of business improvement Enterprise Project Management group (EPM). The Project Manager coordinates all aspects of project delivery, using proper documentation to develop, plan, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and as agreed.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversees execution of business improvement projects
  • Facilitate translation of operational inputs into mutually agreed upon scope and requirements across departments.
  • Be the liaison between technical teams and the business to drive agreed upon specifications and documents with escalation if required.
  • Lead and participate in design initiatives, projects, or tasks.
  • Coordinate (SMEs) to determine best practices across functional areas, and obtain process approvals from VPs of functional areas where appropriate (Ex. Laboratories, Clinical Operations, and Data Management, etc.).
  • As part of the project or task, coordinate the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures, and other working practice documents.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of projects.
  • Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects.

Timely escalation of issues to upper management

  • Able to execute to the project plan without being a subject matter expert.
  • Provides team leadership and management to ensure that the projects are completed on-time, on-budget, to agreed specifications.


  • Project Management Experience: 2-4 years
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare project plans and documentation
  • Experience in IT system design and implementation
  • Experience in clinical labs and/or clinical trial business desirable. Experience with CLIA and CAP regulations
  • Expert level process and analytical skills with ability to apply principles of lean to process evaluation, planning and implementation of process change.
  • Must be goal directed and driven to achieve positive results and a positive influence on peers.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (oral and written) with all levels of ECL personnel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills with strong sense of personal accountability and responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Good command of Microsoft office suite of tools


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Life Science, or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, in progress or equivalent experience
  • Lean certification or training preferred

Position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
