Job OverviewAveanna Healthcare, the heart of caring for patients in the wellness and immunization line of business, is seeking nurses i.e. Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to work per-diem assignments for wellness and immunization clinics. The wellness/immunization clinic nurse performs biometric screenings and immunizations at Aveanna Healthcare clinics.Job Responsibilities:Skills/Abilities: (Aveanna will provide training)* Preparation and assessment for changes in overall patient health and medication(s)* Sample collection(s) I.e. saliva, urine, nasopharyngeal, nasal* Ability to draw blood with packaging and shipping of samples to laboratories* Must always be able to adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries* Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with Aveanna team members and others* Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal* Proven ability to work independently at times and within a team* Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlinesIMMUNIZATION CLINIC NURSE:Assist with setup and break-down of wellness/immunization clinics and transport of vaccine(s) and sharpsAssist with completion of immunization consent forms for participantsPerform intramuscular injection and subcutaneous injection proficientlyAdminister vaccines (per manufacturer instructions) proficiently and educate clients and caregivers about age specific immunizations, precautions/contraindications and possible adverse reactionsTransport vaccine(s) and maintain the cold chain process to promote desirable temperature conditions to maintain the shelf-life of the productEnsure proper biohazardous waste transport and disposalMaintains appropriate infection control standards and precautionsMaintain compliance with relevant policies and procedures pertaining to the role and function of nurses working in the wellness clinicImplement emergency management responses to i.e., adverse reactions, anaphylaxis administer epinephrine per physician orderReport incidents and/or injuries/needle sticksImplement proper biohazardous waste process/protocolsImplement proper utilization of PPEMinimum Requirements:6 months or more experience handling with blood specimens, urine specimens, nasal swabsActive and in good standing nursing license i.e. Registered nurse, Licensed practical nurse, Licensed vocational nurseMeets professional nursing standards and pertinent local, state, and federal requirements Strong therapeutic communication Skills Preferred administrative data entry work experience, but not required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Flexibility and timeliness in completing assigned tasksPhysical Requirements:Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English Must be able to travel up to 30 miles, 10% of the time Must be able to lift 50 poundsOSHA Respiratory Protection Program: Must complete the OSHA's Respiratory Protection Program I.e. N-95 respirator, face shields/goggles, gloves, gowns and if applicable, shoe coverings. Must be able to sufficiently move equipment without assistance. Must be able to sustain prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting. Must be able to sit and climb stairs.
