Job Description Job Description Description: The Director of
Artificial Intelligence Enablement serves as the driver for
internal AI usage and knowledge development in the advancement of
the NCQA mission and organizational strategic priorities. This role
is responsible for reviewing, prioritizing, promoting, and managing
strategic AI-enabled solutions, capabilities, and processes to
produce internal efficiencies across the enterprise and leading the
maturity of NCQA’s AI-enabled workforce. Responsibilities: Internal
Capability Review & AI Strategy Execution – Evaluate and prioritize
internal efficiency and future capability opportunities in
alignment with organization strategic direction. Support AI
pilot/project teams to define ROI metrics, outcomes evaluation
frameworks, and organizational standards for responsible and
effective AI implementations. Develop best-practice implementation
playbooks for AI-enabled process optimization and capability
development across the organization. Provide management oversight
(in partnership with department Executive) over all internal
AI-related projects. Drive reporting on internal productivity
efficiency gains. Shape and operationalize enterprise AI programs,
ensuring ROI and business impact. Design and operationalize agentic
AI solutions to automate research, reasoning, planning, content
management, product and customer operations, and decision-making
tasks. Lead development and delivery of complex AI strategies that
enhance business effectiveness and efficiency. Provide financial
ownership over AI-related investments (CapEx and OpEx) including
ongoing planning and reporting. Internal Training, Workforce
Development & Knowledge Enablement Develop content (or evaluate
external content offerings) for internal training and workshops to
increase AI literacy. Develop and guide workforce development
strategy in partnership with HR. Coach and enable teams on best
practices for leveraging AI, including successful pilot planning,
and ongoing production monitoring and outcomes evaluation.
Facilitate workshops and enablement sessions. Competency Center
Engagement Ensure teams are ready to present internal efficiency
review opportunities, using a consistent business case framework.
Evaluate internal efficiency opportunities with competency center
members. Evangelize and monitor adherence to best-practice
implementation playbooks. This includes coaching and re-calibration
related management ownership. Drive consensus on internal AI tools
and usage policy and procedure development. Serve as a functional
consultant and business analyst specializing in AI applications.
Develop reusable delivery assets and accelerators for project
teams. Collaborate to create proofs of concept (POCs) and points of
view (POVs) that expand the use of AI across NCQA. Industry/Market
Research and Discovery Cultivate understanding of industry
developments and trends for AI: Internal efficiency opportunities
for NCQA. NCQA customer utilization of AI in health care
environment. Competitor offerings competing with NCQA offerings.
Disseminate relevant industry trends and evolution with NCQA staff.
Provide thought leadership and define best practices for
integrating AI within various ecosystems. Partner with marketing to
create customer stories showcasing AI success. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Master's degree preferred. •3
years project management experience. 2 years subject matter AI/ML
experience with at least 1 year of implementation experience with
Agentic AI solutions and at least 2 years of implementation
experience with traditional deterministic AI solutions. Practical
experience with strategic planning and implementation of AI pilots
and production solutions. Management experience in coordinating
cross-functional teams to implement AI solutions in business
process and operations. Experience in coaching teams (including
ownership of organization methods/practices/procedures) on
AI-enabled process optimization and capability development.
Analytical skills. Ability to translate complex AI concepts into
actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency
in Microsoft applications. Excellent written and oral communication
skills. Planning and organization skills. Time Management.
Facilitation skills. Conflict resolution experience. Familiarity
with agentic AI concepts, cognitive architectures, and autonomous
agents. Hands-on experience with generative AI frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits: For new hires, this position pays in the
range of $150K - $180K per year, depending on experience. This
position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus, payable in
