CURRENTLY HIRING:

Dining Aides, $16.00 per hour!

  • FT; 11:00AM - 7:30PM, includes every other weekend
  • PT; 3:30PM-7:30PM, includes every other weekend

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Dining Assistant is responsible for the function of thehousehold kitchen which involves maintaining quality standards and service tomeet the nutritional needs of the residents in accordance withregulations. Responsible for overallcleanliness of kitchens and dining rooms.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ EXPECTATIONS -

    A. Customer Service- Demonstrates consistent excellent customer service in an accurate, timely and courteous manner while maintaining confidentiality.

    B. Professionalism- Creates and environment of compassion and dignity by performing duties with commitment, team spirit, caring and respect. Presents a neat/clean attire and appearance.

    C. Accountability- Takes responsibility for individual actions fulfilling work responsibilities related to quality, safety, productivity and adherence to organizational and departmental policies.

    D. Communication- Presents ideas and information in a respectful, timely and concise manner. Able to listen and interpret information accurately.

    E. Teamwork- Works toward a common goal or shared purpose by cooperating and partnering with others.

    F. Dependability- Reports to work area on time and according to schedule. Can be counted on to complete full shift and work assignments.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    A. Prepares and serves high quality food in accordance with standards and regulations. Example: cooking to order, special orders.

    B. Understands diets and special nutritional needs of residents and honors their preferences. Modifies food accordingly to meet the nutritional needs of

    residents.

    C. Maintains high standards of meal quality and appearance. Takes initiative in recognizing and communicating to appropriate team members ideas regarding improvement to resident dining experiences.

    D. Assists the household staff with meal time service as a team. Helps prepare appropriate snacks.

    E. Ensure smooth and timely service of the dining rooms.

    F. Responsible to perform duties in a competent manner in compliance with regulations and policies. Example: Department of Health.

    G. Must be knowledgeable of all menus, modifications and descriptions.

    H. Responsible for inventory, storing and ordering household china, food and paper supplies.

    I. Keeps all kitchen areas clean and organized in compliance with regulations. Reports repairs and maintenance needs in an appropriate and timely manner.

    J. Consistently follows sanitation procedures and universal precautions to preserve food quality and prevent transmission of food-borne illness.

    K. Be knowledgeable in operating and cleaning all kitchen equipment.

    L. Maintains proper documentation of food temperatures and equipment temperatures for regulatory compliance.

    M. Responsible to make sure the needs of residents are met based on their individual choices for daily living and sensitivity to their choices.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS

    A. Participants in Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) of Dining Services.

    B. Responsible to assist in other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

    C. Employee has completed annual Compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

    D. Mandatory training requirements completed as assigned on time.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/JOB RELATIONSHIPS

    A. A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    B. One to two years experience preferred in a skilled nursing or retirement facility.

    C. Complete Serv Safe training / certification.

    D. Encouraged to complete Dining Assist Program.

    E. Basic computer skills needed.

    F. The Dining Aide is responsible to report to the Healthcare Dining Coordinator.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/ACCIDENT EXPOSURE

    A. No unusual accidents or health hazards are inherent with this position.

    B. Exposure to various chemicals.

    C. Works directly around residents with various levels of care. The ability to meet a variety of physical requirements such as lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, squatting, walking and being on your feet for long periods of time, and lifting weights up to and including 40 lbs. Pushing and pulling of various weights up to 150 lbs.
