SummaryProvides professional nursing assessment, judgement,
pre-test assessment and intervention skills for the Cardiology
department, as well as performing studies used in the diagnosis of
heart/vascular disease and electrical/mechanical heart
abnormalities. Performs telemetry monitored diagnostic cardiac
stress testing procedures at an advanced skill and knowledge
level.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the oversight of
ECG monitored cardiac stress tests as assigned and responding to
urgent/emergent situations during testing. Functions independently
following ACLS and department protocols. Monitors patient
hemodynamic status during stress testing and
TEE/Cardioversions.Safely and independently administers medications
during procedures according to standardized protocols and physician
orders.Reviews patient history and risk stratification for stress
testing to determine the appropriate level of supervision. Consults
with a cardiologist as risk stratification indicates.Utilizes
nursing process to provide quality, compassionate care in a safe
environment.Educates and responds to patient questions and concerns
regarding cardiac testing which may include stress
testing.Independently recognizes changes in patient condition
related to cardiac testing which may include stress testing and
directs interventions based on assessment of patient. Initiates
emergency action in response to acute risk situations.Maintains
documentation in patient record.Follows radiation safety polices as
outlined.Proficient at starting IVs.Assists other staff in the
department with patient care and daily tasks when needed.Notifies
and collaborates with physician when further patient
evaluation/intervention is needed.Variation of duties may result
based on the assigned customer care unit(s). This may include
differences in the specific clinical skills required of the RN.

outlines current certification(s) required for specific areas of
nursing practice and is considered to be part of the job
description.In addition to requirements specified in the license
and certification section below, current BLS certification for all
areas of nursing practice is required.Current certification may be
required for the following areas of nursing practice:Emergency Care
Center ACLS, PALSIntensive Care Center & MSCC Lead ACLS,
PALSL&D ACLS, NRP, - Experienced L&D nurses will obtain
within 6 months and new L&D nurses will obtain at 1 year of
experienceNICU NRPPEDS PALSPCC/PACU/ENDO ACLS, PALSProcedural
