Job description: As a company with SAFETY as their #1 priority, the AMETEK Hamilton Precision Metals plant custom re-roll precision metal strip and foil in their climate controlled, clean work environment. Employees use their mechanical knowledge to rework the metal strip and foil for critical applications in the medical, aerospace, electronics, process control among others.

If you want to work for a team that is safety conscious yet requires you to use your hands then we are looking for you! AMETEK is seeking a detail oriented, Quality Lab Inspector to support the Inspection department testing and assessing metal samples and final product.



Primary Duties:

1. Inspect incoming in-process, and finished materials to assure conformance to rigid HPM and customer specifications

2. Performs routine set-up and process adjustments inherent to the production process and monitors the product quality by visual observation and review of process data in accordance with meeting customer specifications

3. Inspect, measure, and test critical parameters such as width, thickness of strip and foil samples from rolling mills and pickling,diameter, length, camber, burr, cross bow, coil set, and flatness

4. Perform testing such as, hardness, tensile strength, pinhole test, surface roughness, positive material identification, etc. using a variety of precision measuring devices such as, but not limited to Heidenhain, mikrokator gages, hardness tester, tensile tester, XRF, etc.

5. Check rolling charts and material samples for proper tolerances at mills



Position Requirements:

Safety conscious and able to assess risks
Strong mechanical aptitude
Solid mathematical skills
Desire to use hands and learn new machinery and tooling
Comfort working in a unionized, multi-machine job shop environment
Willingness to work on weekends if needed
A high school diploma or GED certification
Able to pass a hair drug test
