The estimated base salary range for this role is "$90,000.00 to $120,000.00" per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

As our Commercial Solutions Manager, your area of coverage includes the Northeast where you will be responsible for working directly with industry leaders on the most significant & prestigious commercial projects. The main focus will be gaining the basis of design specifications for our complete integrated Ceiling & Wall Solutions, thereby increasing our sales and profitability.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identifying key projects early in design (pre-planning/schematics stages), owning & driving these projects from concept to order closure/final installation to insure a positive Total Customer Experience
  • Working closely with Project Architects, Design Build Contractors, General Contractors/Construction Managers, Subcontractors, Developers, and Owners (OMIT these two, will not be our main focus) to create unique and differentiated specifications that enable value-added Armstrong solutions for our customers
  • Focusing on winning at every stage of the project by leveraging design services within the You Inspire Solutions Center, pre-engineered integrated solutions, construction expertise, and a broad portfolio of ceiling & wall solutions
  • Integrating with the Area Sales Manager and the local sales teams in their designated areas to capture Armstrong's comprehensive line of solutions (core ceilings, core grid, AS, and specialty grid), thereby supporting our growth strategy of selling more into every space and selling into more spaces
  • Driving top-line sales growth that achieves desired margin expectations
  • Applying a Total Solution selling approach to create demand on thru basis of design specifications and drawings for unique Armstrong solutions
  • Working directly with architects & design build contractors to align design intent with budget expectations during the design cycle - OMIT, we say the same thing in line 2
  • Acting as a team leader within respective regional teams; leads JFU meetings and assists with project priorities and establishing strategies/next steps
  • Targeting the largest $ pipeline value strategic projects within their regional coverage area; such as transportation, sports & entertainment, convention centers, & healthcare
  • Owning a revolving active list of 20 Future Top Promotional Opportunities + 20 Top Promotional Opportunities + 20 Top Opportunities in SFDC - driven by size and segment
  • Using Salesforce (CRM) to capture project follow-up activities, and next steps and maintains active pipeline (estimated quantity, value/AUV, and probability % of closure) - OMIT
  • Tracking and closing Quotations within their territory; utilizing the field sales team as a partner in that process
  • Understanding Armstrong selling advantages and being able to position with key project influencers vs the weaknesses of the alternative competitive landscape - OMIT
  • Promoting new products & services to improve mix and market development
  • Collecting and sharing market and business insight on competitors, market trends, product opportunities, and other strategic information that will drive business growth
  • Focusing on learning, applying, and continuous improvement through individual & team education & specialized training to enhance their technical competencies

    Requirements that will make you successful:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalently experience required
    • 5+ years of experience
    • Must exhibit the highest standards with regard to safe on-the-job conduct and business ethics.
    • Must have the proven ability to develop influential strategic relationships with key customers
    • Territory management, measuring and developing sales excellence in your staff is fundamental competency areas
    • Prior experience creating reports and metrics to track results, preparing and delivering executive presentations with a head for detail on managing the flow of numbers necessary for managing a multi-million-dollar region.
    • Skilled in SalesForce, Bluebeam, Adobe, PowerPoint, and MS Office
    • Proficiency with architectural renderings, drawings & bid documents
    • The desired candidate for this role should reside in the Northeast United States.
