Job Description:

High Transit LLC is the specialty hauler for the affiliated companies of High Industries Inc. The company also partners with other hauling companies to provide specialty services for customers in the civil construction, transportation & building construction, manufacturing, Marcellus Shale, and heavy equipment industries. We are currently hiring for a Fleet Maintenance Manager.General Description:Plan, organize, and direct the utility fleet operations, equipment, and personnel of High Transit LLC. Responsible for the total cost of ownership of the High Transit fleet. Maintain a good working relationship with High Industries Inc. and High Real Estate Group LLC.Qualifications:Ten years of Fleet Maintenance operations experienceManagement of class 8 vehicles, and other major industrial rolling stock equipment.Advanced communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural, and operation function of all fleet equipment.Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; or business administration, preferred.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and ERP platforms such as SAP.Understands key reliability and uptime metrics, and can implement policies that make an impact upon High Transit's bottom lineMTBF - Mean Time Between FailureMTTR - Mean Time to Replace/RepairMTTF - Mean Time to FailUnderstands warranty administration practices.Experience creating department expense budgets, and successfully managing expenses to stay within fixed budgets and/or budgets that are flexed on operational variables.Essential Job Functions:Demonstrated effective supervision of mechanics resulting in efficient operations and engaged workforce.Ability to analyze total cost of ownership for asset-based operation.Maintain a preventive maintenance program that will minimize breakdowns, control costs and meet the equipment needs of High Transit LLC.Direct the maintenance program in compliance with all company, local, state and federal regulations and laws.Direct and manage the Fleet Maintenance teams in the Lancaster and Williamsport facilities.Maintain a position and service-oriented relationship with all High Companies.Conduct interviews and make recommendations on transfers and new hires into the Fleet Maintenance Department.Conduct performance evaluations and arrange training for all reporting employees.Monitor weekly safety meetings with the three shifts and attain a safe working environment.Initiate and control the Fleet Maintenance operating budget for all High Transit LLC fleet maintenance facilities.Evaluate maintenance records to recommend the feasibility of maintaining or replacing equipment.Monitor the operations in the paint bay complying with all EPA and DER regulations.Monitor the operations in the trailer bay addressing issues relating to new builds, rebuilds, and special builds of trailer and special equipment.Monitor industry changes and new technology to assist in specifications for new equipment purchases such as cars, welders, air compressors, forklifts, trucks, tractors, trailers, travel lifts, cranes, etc.Assist other High Companies in new equipment specifications.Work directly with High Industries to establish car replacement and/or transfers.Address insurance issues directly involving equipment damage for High Steel Structures, High Steel Service Center, High Industries, and High Construction or any other High Company as needed.Address any request made by the Director Shipping and Fleet Maintenance.License, Certificates or Registrations:PA class 7 State Inspection license (to retain PA inspection station)Federal Inspection certificateFederal Commercial Driver's License Class AAir brake adjustment certificationE.P.A. refrigerant purchase and handling certificateWorking for the High Companies:Tuition Assistance with 100 percent reimbursement for approved courses and degree programs which are job related and approved in advance by your supervisor.Employee Assistance Program provides professional, confidential assistance for any type of personal issue you or your eligible dependents are experiencing.High Family Foundation Scholarship is awarded annually to the children of High co-workers working at least 1,000 hours per year and employed for at least two years.
