Job Description Job Description Plant Maintenance Mechanic — Reliability & Facilities Location: Reading, PA Hours: Monday–Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM following training Hourly Range: $26.25 – $36.05 Why This Role If you’re energized by solving tough mechanical problems and keeping production lines moving, this role gives you the autonomy, tools, and support to do your best work in a safety-focused environment. What You’ll Do Repair and maintain manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Troubleshoot mechanical failures involving bearings, gearboxes, pumps, chain drives, and similar components. Plan, layout, and install mechanical systems to meet regulatory and local code requirements. Perform light fabrication by welding or bolting from prints and diagrams. Use equipment schematics and service manuals to guide diagnostics and repairs. Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to reduce downtime. Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and follow all plant safety rules, including LOTO and Confined Space Entry. Handle other responsibilities as assigned. What You Bring 2 years in industrial maintenance with technical certification, or 3 years with a high school diploma/equivalent. Practical experience with hydraulics, plumbing, welding, and basic electrical troubleshooting. Exposure to industrial control systems and PLCs. Strong analytical and mechanical problem-solving skills. Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and voltage meters. Effective communicator with solid organizational and decision-making abilities. Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team. Able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
