Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. An opportunity is available for two full-time special education teachers to support elementary programs focused on developmentally delayed and mildly mentally disabled students. These roles emphasize providing tailored instruction in a supportive classroom environment while working closely with colleagues and program directors. Location: Camden, SC Duration: November 17, 2025 May 22, 2026 Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Setting: Onsite elementary schools Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students in developmentally delayed and mild intellectual disability programs Manage and de-escalate challenging behavior in the classroom effectively Collaborate regularly with general education teachers through Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings twice weekly Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure alignment with education goals Participate in monthly meetings with special education elementary program directors Work alongside paraeducators to support student learning and classroom management Desired Qualifications and Experience: Active South Carolina teaching certification with a multi-category (multi-cat) endorsement in special education Experience teaching mild intellectual disabilities and developmentally delayed student populations Proven classroom management skills, particularly in behavior de-escalation techniques Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and special education teams Commitment to student-centered teaching and inclusive education practices Benefits of this position include the opportunity to make a profound impact on student development within specialized programs, professional collaboration in a supportive setting, and a full-time contract position through the school year.
