This position will report to the Senior Manager, External Reporting in the Controller's Department, and will be directly responsible for accounting areas such as leases, derivatives, and pensions as well as assisting with the preparation of our periodic SEC filings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Communicates US GAAP developments to Senior Manager, External Reporting, Controller, and other impacted personnel.
  • Leads efforts to manage and administer lease accounting compliance, including assisting business leaders with contract review.
  • Serves as main accounting liaison with outside actuary for defined benefit pension, post-retirement plan, post-employment plans, and deferred compensation plans; records necessary accounting entries and develops associated budgets and forecasts.
  • Assists with the process for the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K; including selected footnote preparation.
  • Records interest rate derivative accounting entries and performs annual derivatives process reviews.
  • Reviews key customer and vendor contracts to determine accounting impact.
  • Publishes technical accounting memos on topics such as asset impairment and reporting segments.
  • Performs annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment tests.
  • Serves as a key contact for the external auditor.
  • Manages the process to create and file financial statements for employee benefit plans.
  • Files annual SEC Form SD documenting the Company's conflict minerals process.

    Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations, combined with the ability to research complex accounting issues.
    • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and manage well through tight deadlines.
    • Strong interpersonal skills are required; one must be capable of interacting comfortably & respectfully with all personnel levels.
    • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
    • Knowledge of general ledger systems (SAP preferred)

      Education and/or Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.
      • 3+ years of financial reporting experience in accordance with US GAAP required.
        • Public accounting or financial reporting experience is preferred.

          Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
          • CPA Preferred
